Recycled poly(ethylene terephthalate) and its short glass fibres composites: effects of hygrothermal aging on the thermo-mechanical behaviour 总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1
This paper reports on the effects of hygrothermal aging at 70 °C in water and at 80% relative humidity, on the thermo-mechanical properties, molar mass and microstructure of recycled poly(ethylene terephthalate) (rPET) and its short glass fibres composites.For all the investigated materials, the elastic mechanical properties (tensile and storage moduli) determined at low strain levels resulted practically unaffected by hygrothermal aging under the selected conditions. On the other hand, a marked reduction of the tensile strength and apparent fracture toughness has been observed for rPET matrix and its composites during hygrothermal aging, more markedly for materials immersed in water than for those aged at 80% RH. Both properties resulted to be related on the molar mass of the rPET matrix, that decreased during hygrothermal aging as a consequence of the hydrolysis process.The materials glass transition, evaluated as the temperature of the loss factor peak, increased during hygrothermal aging due to the progressively restricted mobility of the amorphous phase caused by a concurrent crystallinity increase. This crystallization process (chemicrystallization) is favoured by temperature, by the plasticizing effect of water and by the reduction of molar mass.Consistently with the mechanical measurements, the morphology of fracture surfaces exposed to hygrothermal aging in water revealed a reduction of plastic deformation of the rPET matrix and a weakening of the fibre-matrix interface for rPET composites. 相似文献

We used three kinds of alkyl diallyl ammonium salts (methyl, ethyl, and propyl) in combination with dimethyloldihydroxyethyleneurea (DMDHEU) as crosslinking agents. The nitrogen content, dry crease recovery angle (DCRA), moisture regain, and wicking height for the DMDHEU/alkyl diallyl ammonium salts were in the order of ? CH3 > ? C2H5 > ? C3H7, but the wet crease recovery angle (WCRA) and tensile strength retention (TSR) were in the opposite order at the same resin concentration. For the same DCRA and TSR, the WCRA values for only DMDHEU were lower than those for DMDHEU/alkyl diallyl ammonium salts, and the WCRA values for DMDHEU/alkyl diallyl ammonium salts were in the order of ? C3H7 > ? C2H5 > ? CH3. Both the ? OH group of the cellulose and DMDHEU could react with the vinyl or epoxy groups of the alkyl diallyl ammonium salts during the pad–dry–cure process. The surface migration for DMDHEU/alkyl diallyl ammonium salts was in the order of ? CH3 > ? C2H5 > ? C3H7. An in situ deposition approach was used for the synthesis of nano‐CaSO4 and nano‐Ca3(PO4)2. The nanosize particles were confirmed with an X‐ray diffraction technique. Composites of polypropylene (PP) with 0.1–0.5 wt % nano‐ or commercial CaSO4 or nano‐Ca3(PO4)2 were prepared. The transition from the α phase to the β phase was observed for 0.1–0.3 wt % nano‐CaSO4/PP and nano‐Ca3(PO4)2/PP composites. This was confirmed by Fourier transform infrared. A differential scanning calorimetry analysis was carried out to determine the thermal behavior of the nanocomposites with increasing amounts of the nano‐CaSO4 and nano‐Ca3(PO4)2 fillers. Increases in the tensile strength and Young's modulus were observed up to certain loading and were followed by a decrease in the tensile strength. A continuous decrease in the elongation at break (%) was also observed for commercial CaSO4 and larger nano‐Ca3(PO4)2. A decrease in the mechanical properties after a certain loading might have been due to the agglomeration and phase transition of PP in the composites. © 2006 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Blends of polypropylene (PP) and thermoplastic elastomers (TPE), namely SBS (styrene‐butadiene‐styrene) and SEBS (styrene‐ethylene/1‐butene‐styrene) block copolymers, were prepared to evaluate the effectiveness of the TPE type as an impact modifier for PP and influence of the concentration of elastomer on the polymer properties. Polypropylene homopolymer (PP‐H) and ethylene–propylene random copolymer (PP‐R) were evaluated as the PP matrix. Results showed that TPEs had a nucleating effect that caused the PP crystallization temperature to increase, with SBS being more effective than SEBS. Microstructure characterization tests showed that in most cases PP/SEBS blends showed the smallest rubber droplets regardless of the matrix used. It was seen that SEBS is a more effective toughening agent for PP than SBS. At 0°C the Izod impact strength of the PP‐H/SEBS 30% b/w blend was twofold higher than the SBS strength, with the PP‐R/SEBS 30% b/w blend showing no break. A similar behavior on tensile properties and flexural modulus were observed in both PP/TPE blends. Yield stress and tensile strength decreased and elongation at break increased by expanding the dispersed elastomeric phase in the PP matrix. © 2004 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. 简述了煤中镜质组荧光产生的机理及荧光参数的测量方法,通过测定一系列煤的粘结性和10kg小焦炉结焦性试验,探讨了煤的荧光特性与其工艺性能的关系。煤的荧光参数与其反射率呈正的线性相关关系,与其挥发分含量呈负的线性相关关系;煤的粘结性、结焦性均与其荧光参数有关;当煤化程度相同、煤岩组成基本相同时,煤的荧光强度愈强,其结焦性能愈好。 相似文献
